Lee's Hickory Smoked Bar-B-Q

This place is way out there, and not easy to get to. The building is small, and we were the only customers in mid-afternoon, with baseball chatter filling the air from a fuzzy television resting on a table. We ordered a "Full House" which included brisket, ribs, hot links and sausage. The brisket was oddly sliced into small pieces that lacked flavor, smoke, tenderness...you get the idea. The ribs were better with a hint of smoke and a decent crust. Both the sausage and hot links were the standout items.

I ate there today. Brisket was as you described except not dry at all.

Between now and April 11, they are rolling back their prices 21 years. A two-meat combo was listed as $6.25.

Ii first ate at Lee's about 15 years ago. I first got the rib sandwich and on I was hooked right then and there. The hot links and Sasuage are very good too. My least favorite is the brisket though his chopped beef Sasuage with his sause brings out the taste. No he won't set a record preparing your plate but I assure you the food is EXCELLENT. He's always been friendly with me and the guest I bring. I live in Fort Worth and when my tastebuds want bbq, we head to LEES!

DISCLAIMER:

Each joint is judged on the essence of Texas 'cue...sliced brisket and pork ribs. Sausage is only considered if house made. Sauce is good, but good meat needs no adornment to satisfy. Each review can only be based on specific cuts of meat on that particular day. Finally, if the place fries up catfish or serves a caesar salad, then chances are they aren't paying enough attention to the pits, so we mostly steered clear.
