Check out the menu on their new website, and then head over to the opening party.

Smoke is serving a limited menu of burgers today to train servers. No barbecue, but I got a look at the scantron menu they will use to order (you can't see this on their website). You could easily spend a lot of money here. Can't speak to the quality of the food yet, but a half-pound of ribs and two sides will run $20. More if you want to try more than one meat at a time. Sandwich by itself seemed reasonable though, about $6.

$20 for a half pound of ribs or a half rack of ribs? Does the $6 sandwich include any sides?

"Half-pound" is how their scantron menu is worded. You order each item individually, so sides are always extra. To break down the $20: $12 for a half pound of ribs, $4 per small side.

DISCLAIMER:

Each joint is judged on the essence of Texas 'cue...sliced brisket and pork ribs. Sausage is only considered if house made. Sauce is good, but good meat needs no adornment to satisfy. Each review can only be based on specific cuts of meat on that particular day. Finally, if the place fries up catfish or serves a caesar salad, then chances are they aren't paying enough attention to the pits, so we mostly steered clear.
